About the artist

Portrait

Nextor Otano

Nextor Otano, also known as Nexgraff, is an active and socially committed urban artist from the Basque Country of Spain, who successfully completed his studies at the Beaux Arts in Bilbao. At the age of 22, he enriched his already well-established career with studies at the Fine Arts School in Bilbao, which enabled him to adopt a mature and thoughtful perspective to his work.

Nextor began his artistic journey with graffiti, then moved on to the creation of large-scale murals, more in tune with his personal artistic growth and his desire to tackle deep, relevant social themes. Through his work, he explores concepts such as immigration, globalization and the importance of valuing our origins and local cultures.

Despite his young age, Nextor is already recognized as one of the world's most talented street artists. Since 2022, three of his murals have been ranked among the 50 best in the world by the Street art cities platform. His mural works, charged with social values and optimism, decorate, challenge and enrich the urban environment. From the Basque Country to France and Germany, they invite reflection, demonstrating that art can be a powerful means of expression and social change.

These recognitions by Street art cities underline not only his talent and dedication, but also art's ability to connect and communicate across borders and cultures.
