Spok Brillor

Acrylic on canvas

100cm x 81cm x 2cm

Unique piece

Spok's work is the result of a shaken path, a polyhedron with multiple edges. He often uses figurative and sometimes abstract language, while seeking to maintain elements of fantasy, humor and irony in his work. All his murals and canvases are the result of a conflict between urban space and his nostalgia for the graffiti of yesteryear. His pictorial style is a combination of different types of contours, flashes, lights and shadows, saturated and vibrant colors, originating in his love of graffiti painting in the early 90s. He tries to create different atmospheres filled with mirages and other elements that seem to have lost their relevance.

Portrait

Spok Brillor

Born and currently living in Madrid, Spok Brillor is an artist who has been developing his career for over 20 years. He has created over 30 public works that have been exhibited in more than 10 countries.

With a degree in Fine Arts, his artistic curiosity first manifested itself in the graffiti of the 90s. With time and effort, Spok achieved his own unique style in just under 9 years, from 1994 to 2003, "bombing" trains and walls while representing his local Madrid crew, TBC. Later, he began working on private projects, while traveling to places like Mexico, Buenos Aires, Hong Kong and Miami to paint murals.

Since its inception, Spok has constantly improved the quality of its work. He refined his murals and canvases by experimenting with different shapes and colors, and always looking for something new. Thanks to this constant improvement in his style and technique, he has become a renowned artist, highly appreciated for his originality and authenticity in various fields such as illustration, mural painting and even academic painting. This Spanish artist creates incredible imaginary fictional characters by combining his lettering projects with robotic and mechanical references, and never repeating the same work twice.

Spok is an intriguing artist, brimming with curiosity, always looking for ways to expand his knowledge. He tries to escape reality while capturing it and attaining a better version of it. His work is known for its references to dark humor and fantastical contexts, which sets him apart from other graffiti artists. Spok, with his hyper-realistic technique and grandiose formats, manages to establish a dialogue with his viewers and therefore never fails to attract attention.

Spok has participated in art events such as TATE Modern, Wynwood Walls, the Thyssen Museum, Instituto Cervantes and Somerset House. He has also won numerous awards.
