A painter and visual artist since 1989, Elisabeth von Wrede works with matter, the vibration of light, the rhythm of gesture and experimentation in space. Through her research, which combines painting, sculpture and installations, Elisabeth von Wrede explores matter, light and the tension between structure and movement. Her approach questions the intimate, the threshold between the visible and the suggested – true to the idea that “only what is hidden arouses desire”.
Her work, at once rigorous and sensitive, seeks less to show than to reveal: a discreet presence, a form that hints at itself, a space that breathes. She inscribes each piece in a profound dialogue with place, memory and the viewer, building an aesthetic in which restraint, suggestion and gesture become language.
