Brigitte Kardesch & Richard Orlinski

January 14th – February 13th, 2021

A former student at the Beaux Arts in Paris, Brigitte Kardesch quickly immersed herself in the world of abstract art, a style which perfectly transcribes the thoughts and moods of this artist with heightened sensitivity. Born in the Basque Country, she grew up in a family with a curious look at tradition and open to difference. Initiated very early on in art, and endowed with an exacerbated sensitivity, her tastes are affirmed on the fringes of trends and fashions. The discovery of abstract painting is obvious to her. No subject appears in his canvases except the painting itself. The construction is vigorous, simple shapes, almost archaic. Curves and undulations punctuate, organize and stabilize the space. The shapes, the dark colors and the glazes, very elaborate, bring out in the weave of his paintings, the white light of our successive transformations, merging the oppositions that have become fruitful in an incessant search for balance. Kardesch intensifies the impression of opposition between the expression of rational thought which structures, frames, demarcates and the inner feelings expressed which emerge and invade the painting.

After working as an interior architect and designer, it was in 2002 that he decided to devote himself fully to art. The sculptor arouses the enthusiasm of his professional partners. Quickly, his rating climbed. His works enter collections all over the world and reach records. Defying difficulties, he is constantly innovating to create light effects, sculpt new materials, test alloys. Since 2011, he has been one of the TOP 10 best-selling French artists in the world (source Artprice). In 2015, he was ranked first.

An exhibition to be visited by appointment at the gallery.
