Mysterious, sometimes dreamy and melancholy, the faces painted by Iorizzo don’t really exist, except in his imagination, in the memory of a fleeting encounter or in the artist’s most intimate dreams. Iorizzo digs into the pictorial material, corrodes the surface, letting emerge on each face a patina of antiquity that links it to the past. He works on both wood and canvas, in tempera grassa and oil.

The artist’s work is vibrant and passionate, oscillating between realistic research and conscious transformation.
