Simon is a landscape painter living in North London. He loves to paint the parks, moors and woods near his home, and his paintings often reflect London’s unique blend of nature, architecture and city life. He paints in oils, in a vigorous, expressive style that seeks to capture the sense of freedom and energy of city life.
After working as an architect for twenty years, he turned to painting in 2022. He paints en plein air (he is a member of Jackson’s Plein Air group), in his studio and with a group of other artists, Studio Fridays.
Between 2024 and 2026, he presented his paintings in solo exhibitions at Burgh House, Hampstead, and Lauderdale house, Highgate. He was shortlisted for Jackson’s Art Prize and his paintings were selected for the Royal Academy Summer Show, ING Discerning Eye and the New English Art Club’s annual exhibition.
He was also selected for the Sky Arts Landscape Artist of the Year 2024 TV series, broadcast on British television in January 2025.
