Xavier Rodés (1971) was born in Barcelona, Spain. He studied art at the EINA college, where he completed his final-year project on the “industrial and urban landscape”. Today, he lives and works at his home/workshop in El Masnou, near Barcelona.
His innovative treatment of light, precise drawing and original choice of themes are particularly evident in his work. Although he is a figurative artist, his paintings suggest unconventional ideas, as he concentrates on composition, chromatic harmony and other plastic features, rather than mere description.
Since 1996, he has exhibited his work in numerous galleries throughout Spain, principally SALA PARÉS in Barcelona and ANSORENA Gallery in Madrid, as well as Anquin’s in Reus and El Claustre in Girona. He has taken part in international fairs such as Strasbourg, London, Madrid, etc…
His paintings can be found in numerous private and public collections. He maintains fruitful relationships with numerous galleries around the world.
