Dave Baranes has been immersed in the Hip-Hop and Street Art culture since his childhood. Passionate about drawing, he turns to Graffiti and decorative painting on urban walls. Without turning away from Street Art, he also paints on canvas, with acrylic and spray, obtaining a concrete trompe-l'oeil striking of relief.
His realistic animals seem to emerge from very urban settings, as colorful as they are concrete; their soft curves on a background of sharp angles add an extra relief to the painting, like a double trompe-l'oeil opposing life to the inert. Certainly, importing nature into the city in such a masterly way is less a paradox than a way of pointing out the drifts of our world. Sometimes the colored urban background appears blurred, the contours of the animal melted into the background, then the gaze is fixed on the face of the tiger, the lion, very clear and looking into his eyes ...

Dave Baranes' wild animals, the central subjects of his work, question the rightful place of humans in the living world. Sometimes depicted in "rue de l'Avenir" plated settings, they are generally from endangered species, illustrating the artist's acute awareness of environmental issues.

Dave Baranes is an artist who has been involved with the Paris Hospitals Foundation for many years; he has executed numerous frescoes in the premises dedicated to sick children, sometimes deviating from his usual themes to represent birds, suns or child heroes.

Dave Baranes regularly participates in the Street Art Urban Painting Around the World (UPAW) performance in Monaco, which culminates in an auction to benefit environmental NGOs. (Prince Albert 2 of Monaco Foundation).
He is now present in many galleries and art festivals, Graphic Art Festival, the exhibition Sneakers Generation or the Colors festival n°2
