Gaspard Mitz/Sébastien Créteur

June 22 – July 28, 2018

Discover the hilarious boxes of Gaspard Mitz associated with the precious three-dimensional vanities of Sébastien Crêteur.
Sébastien Crêteur has created two precious vanities, one in silver and gold and the second in almost pure gold of 23.75 carats. The striking effect of these three-dimensional paintings associated with precious metals or intense colors is perfectly combined with the perfectly mastered execution of these unique pieces.
Admiring Japanese aesthetics, Gaspart Mitz builts his scenes in sober, refined worlds, working on a selection of materials: wood, polystyrene, foam sheets and paper. He likes to integrate classical museum works with contemporary creation. He diverts the figurines from their primary function, inventing a tailor-made destiny. The humor and poetry of the moments he freezes in his boxes are reinforced by the titles that accompany them.
